1965

When Bob Hollis explored Monastery Beach more than 50 years ago, he committed to developing innovative, reliable dive computers at first-rate value. In 1972, Bob founded Oceanic Worldwide. Today, his philosophy is woven into everything we create and is the foremost reason why our innovation continues to lead the dive industry.

1981

datamax

An instant commercial success, the DataMax was the first mechanical depth gauge with automatic digital timer capability. It propelled Oceanic to the forefront of dive equipment suppliers.

1983

DATAMASTER 1

Two years after the success of the DataMax, the first air integrated digital dive timer was born. DataMaster 1 was the first product to feature an air pressure bar graph, and was followed by the DataMaster 2—the first air integrated dive computer, and the DataMaster Sport—the first to utilize an algorithm with DSAT data.

1987

datamax SPORT

The design of dive computers changed after the release of the DataMax Sport. With a large, easy-to-read display, it was the first to introduce many features that are now standard on Oceanic computers, like our trademark color-coded tissue loading bar graph and variable ascent rate indicator. It was also the first modular “hockey puck” design and would go on to replace analog depth gauges in existing consoles.

“This is by far the best computer I’ve ever had.”

1994

DATATRANS

In a partnership with NASA, Oceanic developed wireless air integrated technology to monitor astronaut activity during missions to space and support team gas supplies and consumption rates. While the technology was proving a success, a commercial product was still needed, so the DataTrans was born. It was the first commercial product to utilize wireless air integrated technology, the first with alpha-numeric display and menu system, and the first interactive 2-button interface with 5 language options.

2003

PRO PLUS 2

Continuing the tradition of innovative technology and advanced features in an easy to use and easy to read format, the 4th generation Pro Plus 2 air integrated computer further advanced Oceanic's Pro series. It was the first computer to allow users to customize the dive mode display on the fly. Today, Pro series computers still feature the largest and easiest-to-read digits of any computers on the market.

2006

GEO WRISTWATCH

The Geo Wristwatch spurred on a significant trend in diving instruments in North America. While wrist units had historically not been popular outside of Europe, they became the fastest growing global category, thanks to the popularity of the Geo. This was Oceanic's initial R&D effort that helped build a platform for future development of wristwatches.

"Oceanic have been a pillar of leadership since Bob founded the company...He went beyond everybody who was out there to see that what he was putting forward was going to be leading edge, and he did a magnificent job of it."

2009

DUAL ALGORITHM™ (GE0 2.0 WRISTWATCH)

The revolutionary innovation of Dual Algorithm™ allowed divers, for the first time, the option to choose the decompression algorithm that best suited their diving needs without compromising safety. The GEO 2.0 was the modern wristwatch compatible with Dual Algorithm™ that divers could use, with a stainless-steel accent ring and new color combination.

2011

B.U.D

B.U.D was our first dedicated backup dive computer and is still popular today thanks to its Dual Algorithm™ capability. Clip it off or stow it in your pocket and it will adjust your dive computer's settings to closely match just about any other dive computer on the market. B.U.D is the perfect backup device.

"I’ve always been able to rely on Oceanic... it works well, reads well and makes my work easier so I can focus on underwater photography instead of worrying about my bottom time."

OCi

Our flagship air integrated titanium wristwatch with digital compass, OCi is compatible with up to 3 nitrox mixes and individual transmitters. Dot Matrix menu system enables intuitive user-interface, and the first air integrated titanium wristwatch to feature Dual Algorithm™. Five years later, the "i" still stands for "incredible".

2014

BLUETOOTH 4.0

Low-energy consumption Bluetooth 4.0 technology is added to all future Oceanic wristwatch computers, allowing them to speak to any other Bluetooth 4.0 device, be it smartphone, computer, tablet or wristwatch, without requiring an intermediary. Bluetooth 4.0 elevates every Oceanic computer to new depths.

2017

PRO PLUS X

Winner of the 2017 ScubaLab Testers Choice Award, the perfectly clear Pro Plus X is a new take on a classic solution. Divers have no problem seeing their dive data in bright conditions with ProPlus X's amazingly bright, low energy consumption, Thin-Film Transistor (TFT) display. Its large, easy-to-read screen also has an intuitive color-coded interface, high-resolution bar graphs, and the largest, most legible, digits of any dive computer on the market.
